Flexible Idlers
Unlike the otherwise well-known Garland Idler, in which 2, 3 or 5 Conveyor Rollers Type 15207 (Standard Rollers) are used, Flexible Idlers are based on an entirely different roller principle.
Technical Specifications of our Flexible Idlers
A rubber profile, with a special shape for each dimension, is vulcanised onto a specially treated steel rope with high tensile strength. The steel rope used remains flexible even at low temperatures and is resistant to oxidation, most chemical substances and weathering. The neoprene discs are then mounted onto the rubber-coated steel rope according to the dimension.
For Flexible Idlers in black, the neoprene discs are firmly vulcanised onto the rubber-coated steel rope. In the white version, the neoprene discs achieve good adhesion on the rope through a pre-formed groove, and their special shape provides protection against horizontal movement. This ensures that the entire system rotates. The neoprene discs are highly abrasion-resistant.
The suspension of the Flexible Idler is made of cast iron and contains the ball bearings, which are protected against external influences and permanently lubricated.
The neoprene used is resistant to most chemical substances and within a temperature range of -35 °C to +110 °C the Flexible Idlers undergo no change. In the loading area beneath hoppers or similar, additional special shock absorbers (specifically for Flexible Idlers) can be very easily installed to absorb very high impact forces.
